If you have never been to an event like this before it will be interesting and I would recommend to find friends before the event. The only way to explain these types of events is like entering a new school and having to make new friends and get to know each other in a short period of time. There will be 2500 people at least and you won't have time to chat with everyone, so if you want to meet and chat with Twilight fans come on down. This is the main reason i'm going to the event as a lot of my friends are not fans of the books. The downside is the screaming tweens and crowd of people that will be at the event. So I say weigh the pros and cons of going to the event then decide.
About your ticket, you still have two months to sell it and knowing some people like me. There are people that haven't hear about this event yet. I currently don't have a room or roommates or a ticket to the event yet. The only thing I've bought is my plane ticket as that price will go up if I waited (it is also refundable). I'm in the same mess as you because I don't know if I want to go or not. So haven't spend the money for a ticket yet. I hope you come, but take your time in deciding.
